I think the Pthumerians are natural meddlers who are at best trying to make people's second chance lives a teensy bit better, even if it may not always ... work out that way. So it does seem as if that theory would be sound.

Yes, I think I would be interested in that. And yes, I am that as well. I have been able to develop a bone trebuchet that slings more bone, but that is the extent of my weaponry experience.

A trebuchet is still impressive, so don't discount yourself. Many people don't have the patience for the physics.

Lately, I've been practicing on amulets and small tokens. It's an idea I picked up from one of my students-- it's a specialty of her family.

At the moment my person is not very pleasant to be around, moreso than usual — I'm a bit ... on an uneven keel.

But you are certainly welcome to send something by. I'm generally either in the Archive or out by the Salt Lake. The latter is where I'm presently living and the smell isn't too unsettling right now. If your Omen has a sense of smell they shouldn't mind.

My omen is a cat, and I'm due for a field excursion before winter sets in. Salt Lake must be impressive to see in the cold.

I like cats, usually. I like to observe them from a distance. I can make a skeleton cat now, but not one that can move on its own.

Salt Lake is beautiful, if you ask me (which you did not, but as we are conversing, you may appreciate my opinion nonetheless).

Many people can say that right now. The ocean gives us everything, but she takes until she's satisfied as well.

I do appreciate the opinion, and maybe one day I'll be able to appreciate your cat. I'm not a necromancer, but two of my closest friends have worked closely with the dead. Skeletons being animated for tasks is hardly anything unusual for me-- although I do prefer a cellphone.

The skelecat does nothing except sit on a shelf and occasionally swish its tail, and once it swatted at Augustine when he tried to take a book. He told me it was very realistic.

Video calls and notes both make sense to me, but phones are a bit baffling. Only voice? It's unsettling.

We do, but I always found them unsettling. Disembodied voices.

I suppose that can be unsettling for many people, when you put it like that.

Word from scientists suggests that there's no sound in space. Any sound coming from a source you can't define must be unsettling.
